Worst Experience So Far!

When I tell you that I really had the worst experience as a mother today I am telling you the truth. No I did not watch someone stick a needle in my childs leg or even watch my child fall on his face on the concrete (which would be awful), I took him for his second haircut which was terrible. I took him to the lady that Matt uses because she was cheap and Matt's hair looks ok when she cuts his. I am not going to say her name but If she ever reads this (which she won't because she did not come across as the blogger/email/internet type) I hope she thinks long and hard before she cuts another 13 month olds hair. Well Charlie was not loving the idea to begin with anyway and before I knew it she had my child in a head lock. He was screaming his head off. I was so caught off guard. I was thinking " did she just put my baby in a head lock." By this time she had already butchered his hair, so I had no choice but to go through with the rest of the haircut. As if it did not look bad enough then she proceeds to take the electic razor to the side burns of his hair. I was like "Um I don't think that we have to do that," but too late she had already scalped the left side. Really what 13 month old really needs the electric razor. He was screaming so bad you would have thought that she was cutting his arm off. When she got done I looked at the other people in the shop and said "Well that was TRAUMATIC." He was sweating and there was tons of hair all over me and him. Poor Baby. Not to mention that it is seriously uneven. It was cheap and it is so true that you get what you pay for. I will post pictures later of the traumatic event that left my baby with a lop-sided hair do. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Momma's Little Helper

Yesterday I was cleaning the house because I had cookbook club last night with all my girlfriends. Charlie was obsessed with the vaccum. He was insistent on grabbing it from me, so I just let him go. It was so cute and I hope it is a prediction that he is going to be a "cleaner-upper" when he gets older. When my sisters and I used to gripe about cleaning the house when we were younger my mom would say "Why do you think that I had you." I know she was playing, but now I know what she means. It sure is nice to have a helper. (Matt, I still think I need a housekeeper.) Is he not a DOLL!
You have to put it on the floor for it to work Charlie.

Happy 1st Birthday Charlie

Charlie's first birthday was January 28th. I can't beleive that he is 1 year old, this year has flown by. It is amazing how he can go from a tiny infant who has to have everything done for them to very independent toddler. We had a great time and thank God every day for our greatest gift ever. I went a little crazy posting pics of the family party.

Matt did not really love that hat. He said one day he was going to kill me for making him wear that. Maybe we can put it on his head on his 18th too. Gotta love the family photo where everyone is looking in a different direction.
He was like "what is that shiny thing"

Everytime you break out the camera, this is what Charlie does. You say smile and you get a wide open mouth.

UMMM is it Christmas again????

love that smile.

Look out ladies here I come in my new car.

iPod Crisis

Ok I finally did it. I fixed my iPod issue no thanks to Matt. Back before Christmas, maybe even before September, Matt decided to get a new computer. Well, he failed to let me know this bit of info, so therefore I was not able to deactivate my iTunes account. He said that he copied all of my songs to a CD, funny thing is the folder where they are supposed to be is totally empty. Well if you have ever had this problem before you know that it is a total PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!!! After much debate and with a little iPod counciling from my trainer, Amy, who by the way is awesome (Eventhough I did get punched in the face one day, totally my fault). I decided to remove all of my current songs and start from scratch. Don't ask or make suggestion, I tried everything possible to save my old songs (I PROMISE). So, with some iTune gift cards from Matt this Christmas (I have a feeling he was feeling the heat) my poor little iPod is getting some new action.

Haircut Blues

Yesterday Charlie had his first haircut and it went suprisingly well. Matt went with me because I was just sure that it was going to be a total disaster. He did not cry at all and it was really easy, but last night I had a total breakdown. Charlie was sick over the weekend and yesterday we went to the doctor, and got some medicine to hopefully get rid of the nasty snotty nose. Well I went to give him his last dose of medicine at 10 last night so I had to wake him up. He is a great baby because he wakes up and takes the medicine and just goes back to sleep. After I gave him his medicine I was just holding him and looking at him and he just didn't look like a baby anymore, he looked like a little boy and I think that this was my really first realization that he is growing up right before my eyes. I went upstairs and told Matt how grown up he looked and then I proceeded to tell Matt that one day he is probably going to tell me he "hates" me and that one day he is going to love another girl more than me. Of course Matt just looked at me and I could tell that he was thinking "you are crazy." So with little sympathy and support from my husband I got in the shower and cried some more. It is amazing how a few tears can make you feel so much better. Anyway I never knew a haircut would make me so emotional. Ijust need to take it one day at a time and not take any moment for granted. ( I know my sister (Caroline) is reading this and is totally goobed out. ) Family pic after the haircut.

New Dog

Yes, we have a new dog and his name is Charlie. I don't know why Charlie is so obsessed with Lulu's dog kennel but he is. It kinda grosses me out and I try and keep the door locked all the time, but as you can see I did not get to it in time in this picture. Also, look at Charlie's flippy-doos on his hair, well they will be gone this afternoon, because he is getting his first hair-cut today. He just looks really un-kept (I am sure the constant snotty nose is not helping either), but it is kinda driving me crazy. If he were a girl it would be great, but he is 100% boy, plus everytime we are out in public he is constantly told "You are such a cute little Girl." I mean, come on people, he has baby blue overall's on, and brown converse, how much more little boy can he be. My dad says that is what I deserve because his hair is so long. He calls him the "little hippie." So this hair cut is for you dad.

Christmas with Charlie

Here are just a few pictures of our first Christmas with Charlie. It was so much fun and exhausting. He had no clue what was going on, but it was fun pretending like he did. This was Charlie's first Christmas present. It was very fitting, it was a baseball toy. Matt swears that he already knows how to swing the bat.
I think we have the same Fat Cheeks!!!!!

Matt and Charlie on Christmas morning.

Charlie and Santa, I really think this was the Grumpiest Santa ever. Charlie did so good, next year might be a different story.

It is the NEW DOO!!!!

Is he sexy or what. Charlie loves the hair dryer, but if he knew what he looked like afterwards I don't think he would let me do it again. He is so much fun.

MSU vs. Kentucky

Charlie is crying over the dawgs loss. No he really was just pooped from being out there all day.
Love me some MK and Nat

MK, Nash, Me and Charlie. I wish he didn't have that passy in his mouth. I am going to have a time taking that away.

Belize 2008

We went to Belize in late October. It was our post baby vacation that I really needed. I encourage everyone to take oneThe weather was great and as you can tell I got very sunburned. Matt got to go fly fishing a few days and loved it. He is already talking about going back. The resort was so nice and the people were very friendly. I recommend it to anyone looking for a get away.
This was our Casita where we stayed.

Everyday these idiots would feed the crocodiles in the bay. This was illegal and yes they were idiots. Tourist would bring them whole chickens and they would feed them. They claimed they were friends with the oldest croc, George, and they said that the would ride him if he came up to eat. He did not come the day we went to watch and of course they wanted a tip.

View from the pool

What ya'll looking at

MSU vs. Tennessee

Yes we made the trip to Knoxville to see the Dawgs play. This highlight of the game was watching state run out on the field. The highlight of the entire weekend was tailgating before the game. Let's just say the atmosphere was nothing like Starkville, and I am glad there were no children around.

Now this is just wrong, but I had to get a picture with the Volunteer Bulldog.

Tennesse vs. State in a game of "Flip Cup." Look how excited Matt is, can you tell they won that round and I will have to say we may not have won the game, but the State guys were the champs at Flip Cup.

This old man was DIE HARD. I just kept thinking "that is somones grandfather." He carried around a birdfeeder that was really a plunger that said something like "visitor fans birdfeeder." It was funny.

Play Date

Charlie, Mosby and Cole. This picture is so blurry, but it is the only one I could get with all three of them in it. Charlie and Mosby were on the move and poor Cole just sat there because he had not started crawling yet. These boys were all born within 3 months of each other and I just know they are going to be best buds.

Starkville Academy 10 Year Class Reunion

I can't believe that I have been out of highschool for 10 years. The reunion was so fun and it was great getting to see everyone. I pictured going back and everyone looking different. No one had really changed which is a good thing. Me and Kendy

Matt was such a trooper.

Kendy, Jeremy, me, PJ and Kelly.

Had to get a picture in front of the sign. It still looks pitiful.

Look and Caroline and Charlie. They did so good. Eliza Kate was somewhere, you can see we were real worried about her.

Time to Lower the Crib

I found Charlie looking through the crib one day and the next day..... He was standing up

My 1st Swimming Lesson

I tried doing swimming lessons with Charlie. He loved it, but the water was freezing and then he got the snottiest nose ever. The girl teaching it told me that lots of times the water got so cold the babies could not handle it. We only went once, but it was still fun. Maybe we will try it again in the summer. Charlie was 8 months old at the time.
